Zephirine Drouhin Climbing Rose

Plant in spring or fall near a sturdy support structure. Zephirine Drouhin is a classic, thornless climbing rose — one of the very few truly thornless climbers available. It produces deep carmine-pink, intensely fragrant flowers and is one of the most fragrant climbing roses grown. Dig a wide planting hole, incorporate compost, and water deeply. Apply mulch. Thornless canes make training easy.

Prune in early spring by removing dead wood and some old canes. Train long canes as horizontally as possible along the support to encourage lateral branching and maximize flowering. Deadhead spent blooms for repeat flowering. Fertilize every four to six weeks from spring through late summer. Water consistently.
