Spectacular white flower panicles up to 12 inches long bloom in mid-summer, attracting swallowtail butterflies. This wide-spreading native shrub turns a pleasing yellow in autumn and tolerates shade.

Plant Bottlebrush Buckeye in early spring or fall. Choose a location with partial to full shade and well-drained, moist soil. Space plants 8-10 feet apart to accommodate their spread. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil consistently moist. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune after flowering to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. Protect from harsh winds and extreme temperatures.
