Avalanche™ Birch

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Space 20–30 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 3–4 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

Water deeply and regularly the first 2–3 seasons. Once established it tolerates moderate drought. Monitor for bronze birch borer- keeping trees healthy and well-watered is the best prevention. Avalanche™ is noted for its brilliantly white bark that develops early and holds its stark, luminous color well- an outstanding ornamental birch with striking winter presence. Little pruning is needed beyond removing dead branches. The vivid golden-yellow fall foliage completes the four-season display. Best suited to northern and cooler climates.
