Blaauws Pink Azalea

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) richly amended with organic matter. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep to conserve moisture and maintain soil acidity.

Water deeply and consistently, especially during establishment and summer drought. Prune only if shaping is needed, and do so immediately after flowering. Fertilize in early spring with an acid-formulated azalea fertilizer- avoid fertilizing after midsummer. Protect from drying winter winds in exposed locations. Monitor for lace bugs on the undersides of leaves, which cause a stippled, bleached appearance on the foliage.
