Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Water consistently throughout the growing season. This hybrid performs best with reliable moisture. Deadhead spent flower clusters to encourage rebloom and prevent self-seeding of inferior seedlings. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Monitor for powdery mildew. Fertilize lightly in spring. The vivid, electric red flowers are especially bold and long-lasting, produced over an extended season on an upright, well-branched plant. Highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
