Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) enriched with organic matter. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep with shredded bark or pine needles.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently, especially during establishment and summer drought. Prune lightly immediately after flowering- buds for the next year set shortly after bloom, so pruning at any other time eliminates next year's flowers. Fertilize in spring with an acid azalea fertilizer. One of the most popular and reliable compact azaleas available, with vivid crimson-red flowers and excellent cold hardiness. Monitor for lace bugs in summer.
