Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) with generous organic matter. Space 4–6 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the crown.

Water deeply and consistently, especially during the first season and dry periods. Deciduous azaleas are often more cold-hardy and adaptable than evergreen types. Prune lightly immediately after flowering to preserve next year's flower buds. Fertilize in spring with an acid azalea fertilizer. Monitor for lace bugs in summer.
