Plant in lean, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0). Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential- heather will not tolerate wet or poorly drained soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy form and encourage dense new growth- do not cut into old, leafless wood. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. Luca produces flowers in a distinctive, soft color over the summer and fall bloom season. The fine, evergreen foliage provides year-round texture. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Excellent drainage and full sun are the keys to success with heather.
