Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in average, well-drained soil. Space 4–6 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates drought well. For the best fruiting and a tidy, compact shape, cut the entire plant back to within 6–12 inches of the ground in early spring before new growth emerges- beautyberry fruits on new wood each season. Feed lightly in spring after cutting back. Virtually pest-free. The clusters of brilliant violet-purple berries in late summer and fall are the main attraction and are very popular with birds.
