Thoweil Hinoki Cypress

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained soil with protection from drying winds. Thoweil is a slow-growing, narrow, upright Hinoki cypress with rich, dark green, thread-like foliage. Its columnar habit makes it useful as a vertical accent in small garden spaces. Dig the planting hole to the same depth as the root ball, water thoroughly, and mulch well.

Minimal pruning is needed — the naturally upright form is the key ornamental feature. Remove any dead branches in early spring. Keep soil consistently moist. Apply a light balanced fertilizer in spring. Thoweil grows very slowly but develops into an elegant, refined specimen over time. An excellent choice for providing vertical structure in small gardens and mixed borders without the eventual size of larger conifers.
