Bailey's Red Twig Dogwood

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained soil. Highly adaptable to clay and poorly drained areas. Space 5–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep around the base.

Water regularly, especially during establishment- this shrub naturally grows near water and handles wet conditions well. To maintain the best stem color, cut one-third of the oldest, darkest stems to the ground each year in late winter or early spring, since young stems produce the brightest red. Alternatively, cut the entire plant back hard every 2–3 years for maximum color impact. Virtually pest-free and very low maintenance.
