Winecraft Black® Smokebush

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is highly drought tolerant. For the best foliage color, cut hard back to the ground every 2–3 years in early spring to produce large, richly colored leaves on vigorous new shoots. If the smoky plume effect is desired, prune lightly. Winecraft Black® has exceptionally deep, rich, near-black-purple foliage- among the darkest and most dramatic of all smokebush selections. The wispy, smoky plumes and brilliant fall color are outstanding additional features. Largely pest-free.
