Plant in lean, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0). Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy form. Do not cut into old, leafless wood. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. County Wicklow produces soft, double, shell-pink flowers- the double form is particularly attractive and longer-lasting than single-flowered heathers. The fine, evergreen foliage provides year-round texture. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. An excellent selection for summer to fall color.
