Endless Summer® Dreamcloud® Bigleaf Hydrangea

Plant in spring or fall in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. This bigleaf hydrangea prefers a location with morning sun and afternoon shade — too much direct sun causes wilting and bleaches the flowers. Dig a generous planting hole, amend with compost, and water deeply. Mulch 3 inches deep to retain moisture and keep roots cool. Water consistently throughout the growing season.

Dreamcloud blooms on both old and new wood, making it more forgiving to prune than older bigleaf hydrangea types. Remove only dead wood in early spring — do not cut back healthy stems. If shaping is needed, do so lightly right after the first bloom. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer. Flower color may shift based on soil pH: acidic soil produces blue tones, while neutral to alkaline soil produces pink. Water consistently, as wilting stress reduces blooming.
