Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in very well-drained soil. This low-growing juniper is excellent as a spreading groundcover or for spilling over walls. Avoid wet or heavy soils — good drainage is essential. Dig the planting hole to the same depth as the root ball. Water thoroughly at planting and for the first season, after which the plant is highly drought tolerant.

Care Tips

No regular pruning is required. If needed, light trimming in early spring can direct growth. Drought tolerant and heat tolerant once established, this juniper is virtually maintenance free. Avoid overwatering, which is the most common cause of decline in junipers.
