Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the season- hydrangeas need reliable moisture and wilt quickly in dry conditions. Blooms on new wood- cut back to 12–18 inches from the ground in late winter or early spring for the best flowering display. This annual pruning is essential. Fertilize in spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Provide support if the large flower heads cause stems to flop after rain. The lacy, ring-shaped flower heads with fertile center florets and sterile outer petals are particularly elegant and refined.
