Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Cut the entire plant back to within 4–6 inches of the ground in early spring- St. John's wort blooms on new wood and hard pruning produces the best shape and most vigorous growth. Fertilize lightly in spring after cutting back. Largely pest-free. The bright yellow, golden-centered flowers in midsummer are cheerful and long-lasting, and the shrub has attractive blue-green foliage throughout the season.
