Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates drought well. Cut the entire plant back hard to within 4–6 inches of the ground in early spring before new growth begins- this is essential for maintaining a tidy, compact form and promoting the best new growth for flowering. Fertilize lightly in spring. The golden-yellow, saucer-shaped flowers with a prominent boss of golden stamens are produced over a long midsummer season. Largely pest- and disease-free.
