Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil amended with compost. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the base.

A light trim in late spring maintains shape if desired. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Monitor for scale insects on stems; treat with horticultural oil if detected. An excellent, refined evergreen for formal edges, foundation plantings, and small-space gardens.
