Golden Guinea Kerria

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 4–6 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Water regularly after planting; moderately drought tolerant once established. Prune by removing one-third of the oldest canes at the base right after flowering- kerria blooms on old wood and pruning at other times removes next year's flower buds. Fertilize lightly in early spring. Golden Guinea is notable for its large, single flowers which are more elegant than the double-flowered types. Largely pest-free. Performs well in shade and under trees where few other flowering shrubs thrive.
