Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Provide a trellis, fence, or support. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Prune lightly after the main flush of bloom in late spring to shape and encourage additional flowering. Unlike Asian honeysuckles, this native selection is not invasive and is safe throughout the garden. Fertilize lightly in spring. Scentsation is known for its exceptionally powerful, sweet fragrance- among the most intensely fragrant of all native honeysuckle vines. The vivid yellow and red tubular flowers are irresistible to hummingbirds.
