Plant in average, well-drained soil. Adaptable to clay, sandy, and poor soils. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant and very adaptable. Little to no pruning is needed to maintain the compact, mounding form. Remove any dead wood in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring if desired. The deep burgundy-purple foliage holds its color reliably through the season and provides excellent contrast in mixed borders. A compact selection that stays tidy without aggressive pruning. Largely pest- and disease-free.
