Roseum Elegans Rhododendron

Plant in spring in acidic, moist, well-drained soil with afternoon shade protection. Roseum Elegans is an old, reliable, extremely cold-hardy rhododendron with lavender-pink flowers. It is one of the toughest and most adaptable large rhododendrons available and has been grown in American gardens for over 150 years. Amend soil with peat if needed. Set root ball at or just above grade and mulch deeply.

Remove spent flower clusters after bloom. Feed with an acid fertilizer in early spring. Keep soil consistently moist. Replenish mulch annually. Roseum Elegans has proven itself exceptionally tough and reliable across a very wide range of conditions. Its unmatched cold hardiness and adaptability make it one of the most dependable large rhododendrons for difficult northern gardens. Very long-lived and essentially self-sustaining once established.
