Heritage Red Raspberry

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 24 inches apart. Heritage is the standard-setting fall-bearing red raspberry — productive, reliable, and excellent flavored. Prepare the planting bed by incorporating generous amounts of compost. Install posts and wires for support. Water well after planting and mulch generously. Choose a site with good air circulation to minimize disease.

For the largest fall crop with the least effort: cut all canes to the ground in late winter. This sacrifices the small summer crop but produces an abundant, excellent fall harvest. Fertilize in spring and again after the first fruiting. Water consistently during fruiting. Heritage is one of the most reliable and widely proven fall-bearing raspberries — the standard by which others are judged. Excellent for fresh eating, freezing, and preserving.
