Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained to average soil. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently after planting; once established it is quite adaptable. Cut back by one-third in early spring to encourage vigorous new growth with the most vivid foliage color. Fertilize lightly in spring. Black Lace® is one of the most spectacular elderberry selections- the deeply dissected, lacy foliage is intensely dark purple, almost black, creating an extraordinary fine-textured, dramatic effect. The flat, pink flower clusters provide striking contrast against the dark foliage. A showstopper in the mixed border.
