Satyr Hill American Holly

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Space 8–12 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 3–4 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk. A male pollinator holly is needed for berry production on female plants- check with your nursery.

Water deeply and regularly the first 2–3 seasons; once established it is quite adaptable. Little pruning is needed- American holly has a naturally pyramidal form. Fertilize lightly in spring. Satyr Hill is an excellent female American holly selection with outstanding, prolific, bright red berry production. The evergreen foliage with spiny leaves and the vivid red berries provide exceptional wildlife value and winter ornamental interest. Monitor for scale insects. Largely otherwise pest-free.
