Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the base.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first two seasons; once established it is moderately drought tolerant. The extremely flat, spreading form is completely natural and requires no pruning to maintain. Remove any dead branches in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Largely pest- and disease-free. An unusual and eye-catching conifer for use as a low groundcover, in rock gardens, or as a conversation piece specimen in the landscape.
