Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, well-drained, acidic soil. Space 5–7 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently and generously- witherod viburnum naturally grows in moist, boggy woodland settings and thrives with reliable moisture. Little pruning is needed; remove dead or crossing branches in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. The white flower clusters in late spring, berries that ripen through pink and red to blue-black attracting birds at every stage, and brilliant red fall foliage color make Winterthur one of the finest four-season native shrubs available. Largely pest-free.
