Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch generously to keep roots cool and retain moisture.

Care Tips

Water consistently and deeply throughout the season- plants will suffer in dry soil, especially in more sun. Staking may be needed in windy locations or deep shade. Divide clumps every 4–5 years in early spring to maintain vigor. Cut down dead stems in late fall or early spring. Slugs may be an issue on young growth. The combination of dark foliage all season and late white flowers makes this an exceptional specimen for the shade border.
