Blue Grama Grass

Plant in spring or fall in average to poor, well-drained to dry soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Thrives in lean, dry conditions- avoid rich or overly moist soils, which cause weak growth.

Water regularly after planting to establish, then reduce significantly- established plants are highly drought tolerant and actually prefer drier conditions. Cut back to a few inches in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Divide every 3–4 years in spring to maintain vigor. No fertilization needed. Very few pest or disease issues. Attractive to birds that feed on the seeds.
