Planting Tips

Plant in lean, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0). Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy form. Do not cut into old, leafless wood. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. Maire is a late-season heather that extends the heather bloom season into fall and early winter- a valuable quality for extending color into the coldest months of the year. The fine, evergreen foliage provides year-round texture. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
