Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Tolerates clay and poor soils. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. This native perennial requires minimal maintenance once established. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 4–5 years in spring if desired. No fertilization needed. Storm Cloud features notably deep, steel-blue flowers in spring that are more intensely colored than many other bluestar selections. The willow-like foliage turns brilliant golden-yellow in fall- one of the finest fall color displays of any low perennial.
