Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, humus-rich soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Water consistently and generously- this native anemone naturally grows in moist meadows and along stream edges and thrives with reliable moisture. It spreads vigorously by rhizomes to form a dense colony- plant where it has room to naturalize, and divide in spring to control spread in smaller spaces. Cut back dead foliage in late fall or early spring. No fertilization generally needed. Largely pest-free. The cheerful white flowers with yellow centers in late spring are prolific and excellent for pollinators in a naturalistic planting.
