Plant Gisella® Clematis in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Ensure the roots are shaded and cool, possibly with ground cover or stones. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging. Support the plant with a trellis or fence as it grows. Prune in late winter or early spring, cutting back to strong buds about 12 inches above the ground. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer to encourage growth and blooms.
