Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. Space 6–8 feet apart. Provide a trellis, fence, or support. Keep the root zone cool and shaded- mulch heavily around the base. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the growing season. Josephine® is a Group 2 clematis- prune lightly in late winter, removing only dead or weak stems; avoid cutting back hard. Fertilize in spring and midsummer with a balanced fertilizer. Josephine® produces extraordinary, fully double, pompom-like flowers in soft lilac-pink tones- the inner ring of narrow, petal-like stamens creates an intricate, multi-layered floral display of remarkable beauty. A collector's clematis with uniquely ornate flowers. Largely pest-free; watch for clematis wilt.
