Bonfire Cushion Spurge

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential- spurge will decline in wet or heavy soil. All parts of euphorbia produce a milky sap that is a skin and eye irritant- wear gloves when handling.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. After the main flush of bright yellow spring flowers, cut back by about one-third to tidy the plant and promote dense new growth. The foliage turns vivid red-orange in fall- one of the best fall color displays of any low perennial. Cut back dead or damaged stems in early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Deer resistant and largely pest-free.
