Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 15–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it has good drought tolerance. Cut back by half after the main bloom flush to tidy the plant and encourage fresh foliage and potential rebloom in late summer. Cut to the ground in late fall. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. The deep, velvety magenta flowers with darker veining are exceptionally rich in color and are produced over a long season on a compact, tidy plant.
