Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base. Helenium is adaptable to moist and wet conditions.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season- sneezeweed prefers reliable moisture and will decline in dry soil. Pinch or cut stems back by about half in late spring to early summer to encourage a more compact, bushy plant with more flowers and to reduce the need for staking. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering from midsummer into fall. Cut to the ground in late fall. Divide every 2–3 years in spring. Excellent for pollinators and cutting.
