Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil amended with compost. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Care Tips

Water regularly, especially during dry spells and the bloom period. Remove spent flower scapes after blooming is complete. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when clumps become overcrowded or bloom declines. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer. Largely pest-free. The bold, fiery red-orange flowers stand out dramatically in the summer border and are very attractive to hummingbirds.
