Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 4–6 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently after planting; once established it is moderately drought tolerant. Prune in early spring before new growth begins to shape and remove dead wood- blooms on new wood, so spring pruning does not reduce flowering. Deadhead spent flowers to reduce self-seeding, which can be prolific. Fertilize lightly in spring. Largely pest-free. The large, white flowers with a bold red eye are particularly striking and classic, produced continuously from midsummer through fall. An excellent long-season flowering shrub.
