Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil amended with compost. Space 12–15 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the season. Deadhead spent flower spikes promptly to encourage a second flush of bloom. Lupines are short-lived perennials- allow some self-sowing to perpetuate the planting. Watch for aphids on flower spikes and slugs in wet conditions. The compact Gallery series stays upright without staking and is well suited to containers and smaller borders. Mulch to keep roots cool and moist.
