Prairie Winds® Niagara Falls Switch Grass

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Highly adaptable to clay and poor soils.

Water regularly the first season; once established it is highly drought tolerant. Cut back to 4–6 inches in late winter or early spring — do not cut back in fall. Divide every 4–5 years in spring. No fertilization needed. Largely pest-free. Niagara Falls has a particularly graceful, arching, cascading habit — the long, sweeping foliage and airy seed heads arch outward like the curtain of a waterfall. The blue-green foliage turns warm gold in fall. An unusually elegant and flowing switchgrass with outstanding ornamental presence.
