Volcano® Purple with White Eye Phlox

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly. Good air circulation is important for mildew prevention.

Water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent flower clusters to extend bloom and prevent self-seeding. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Monitor for powdery mildew- this series has improved resistance, but good air circulation and avoiding overhead watering always help. Fertilize lightly in spring. The deep purple flowers with a contrasting white eye are particularly striking. Highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
