Haaga Rhododendron

Plant in spring in acidic, moist, well-drained soil with afternoon shade and shelter from harsh winter winds. Haaga is a Finnish-bred rhododendron with exceptional cold hardiness, producing deep pink flowers in late spring. It is one of the most reliably cold-hardy rhododendrons available for extreme northern climates. Amend soil with peat or acidic compost. Set root ball at or just above grade and mulch deeply.

Remove spent flower clusters after bloom to encourage next year's bud development. Feed with an acid fertilizer in early spring. Keep soil consistently moist.
