Very full cup-shaped flowers in creamy white with about 50 petals, a hint of apricot showing in the center, carried in clusters that cover the plant to the ground. Rosa 'BAIrift', sold as Easy Elegance® Snowdrift, PP19,036, grows 3 to 4 feet tall and wide in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 9.
The flower shape is closer to an English rose than to a typical shrub rose, and each cluster holds its color before the petals drop cleanly.
Most of the Easy Elegance roses come from the renowned breeder Ping Lim, aimed at putting hybrid tea flower quality on a plant that survives a northern winter without a spray program. They grow on their own roots rather than grafted, so a plant killed back in a hard winter comes back as itself. Pruning is a cutback in early spring and nothing more.
The habit is upright and unusually uniform, which makes it work as a graceful low hedge as well as a border shrub.
