Pink Drift® Rose is the single-flowered one in the line, five deep pink petals around a white eye with gold stamens at the center, which gives it an open informal look the doubles do not have. Rosa 'Meijocos' grows 1 to 2 feet tall and spreads 2 to 3 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 11.
Bloom is continuous from mid-spring to frost, and the open centers mean bees can reach the pollen easily.
Drift roses are a cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniature roses, bred to stay low and spread wide while blooming continuously. They were developed to fill the awkward spots: hillsides, narrow strips along a walk, the front edge of a bed, containers. All of them are self-cleaning, disease resistant, and need no deadheading.
The habit is low and wide with long trailing stems, which makes this the best of the Drifts for cascading over a wall or a raised bed edge. Disease resistance is high, so the foliage holds clean through humid summers with no spray program. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Shipped on its own roots.
