Pairs well with

White Knock Out® Rose sets pure white flowers against foliage so dark it reads almost black when young, and that contrast is the reason to choose it. Rosa 'Radwhite' grows about 3.5 feet tall and wide in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 11.

Bloom runs from spring through fall on a compact bushy plant, with a light floral scent.

Knock Out roses were bred for disease resistance first. They hold clean foliage through humid summers with no fungicide, bloom continuously without deadheading, and need nothing beyond a hard cutback in early spring. That combination is why they took over the landscape trade.

This one is notably drought tolerant, earning a Blue Ribbon in the WUCOLS low-water trials. White reads brightest at dusk and in the shadier corners of a bed, which is worth considering when you place it. Cut back by about a third in early spring. Shipped on its own roots.

Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the canes.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first season. No deadheading required for continuous bloom. Prune back by one-third in early spring. Fertilize with a balanced rose fertilizer in spring and midsummer. Outstanding disease resistance makes this a very low-maintenance rose. Monitor for black spot and rose sawfly. The white flowers with a soft yellow center are clean and elegant, produced continuously from spring to frost. A reliable, carefree alternative to the red Knock Out for lighter-colored landscape schemes.
