Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 18-24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Care Tips

Water regularly the first season; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous bloom from midsummer through fall, or leave seed heads for birds. Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Virtually pest- and disease-free. The vivid golden-yellow flowers with a dark brown center are classic and long-lasting as cut flowers. An easy, reliable, and long-blooming native perennial.
