Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, well-drained soil. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water consistently and generously- pussy willow naturally grows in moist, streamside conditions and thrives with reliable moisture. For the best catkin display, cut a few stems back to the ground each year in late winter after enjoying the catkins, which encourages vigorous new growth. The pink-flushed catkins of Mt. Aso are exceptionally ornamental. Fertilize lightly in spring. Largely pest-free. Excellent for cut and dried arrangements.
