Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in average, well-drained to dry soil, spacing 12–15 inches apart. Marcus is a compact, dwarf salvia that stays much shorter than standard meadow sage varieties — ideal for the front of borders, rock gardens, and containers. It produces violet-blue flower spikes and is highly drought tolerant once established. No special soil preparation is needed.

Care Tips

Cut plants back by about one-half after the first bloom flush to encourage a second round of flowers. The compact habit stays tidy without staking. Very drought tolerant once established. No heavy fertilizing is needed. Marcus's small stature and long bloom season make it exceptionally versatile for a wide range of garden settings. Outstanding nectar source for bees and butterflies. An excellent, easy-care compact salvia.
